Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was an Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix discovered early that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition she was ranked among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix completed high school in 2003 and signed with Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s which set an all-time junior world record. She was the youngest winner of the 200 meter at the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked in the top three of athletes at her particular events.
