Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actor and singer. She has appeared on films, television as well as in musical theatre and individual concerts as well as on recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six years. She is a highly respected Broadway actor. She has won seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) along with nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway performances.
Many believe Peters as the best Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway, such as in Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
