Amy Carlson

 

Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7 in 1968) is an American actress known for her roles in the roles of Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap show Another World.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Carlson was born in Elmhurst the county of DuPage, Illinois Chicago and grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, the child of teachers parents, Barbara Jane (Hultman) and Robert Eugene Carlson. She is of Swedish descent , and has roots in Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-92: Early career and college



 She first came to Hollywood as a background actor for the film Lucas featuring Charlie Sheen and Corey Haim. After that, she followed her older sister Betsy to Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
